# Focus Room Focus Timer Planner > Plan Pomodoro, 52/17 or custom focus blocks and export them as a calendar file. Turns a focus routine into a concrete schedule: Pomodoro (25-minute blocks, 5-minute breaks, a 15-minute break after every fourth block), 52/17, or your own lengths. Enter a start date and time to get every focus block and break with clock times, the total focus and break time, and an iCalendar (.ics) file with one event per block — optionally with breaks and a reminder — that any calendar app can import. The Focus Room app uses the same planner for its timer and its calendar export. Part of usefulweb.app (https://usefulweb.app/). Part of [Focus Room](https://focusroom.usefulweb.app/) (ownerApp: focusroom). Results are deterministic calculations from the inputs and the listed assumptions; the API returns exactly what the web page shows. ## Use it - Human interface: https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/ (interactive tool at https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/tool) - JSON API: POST https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/api/v1/calculate with a JSON object of inputs (schema: https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/api/v1/tool) - OpenAPI: https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/openapi.json - MCP (Streamable HTTP): https://focusroomfocustimer.usefulweb.app/mcp - tool `focusroom_focus_timer` ## Inputs - mode (select): Routine - cycles (integer): Focus blocks - start (datetime): Start - Local date and time of the first block. Calendar events use floating local time. - focusMinutes (integer): Focus minutes (custom) - shortBreakMinutes (integer): Short break minutes (custom) - longBreakMinutes (integer): Long break minutes (custom) - longEvery (integer): Long break after every n blocks (custom, 0 = never) - includeBreaks (boolean): Put breaks in the calendar file too - alarmMinutes (integer): Reminder before each block - 0 = no reminder. - title (text): Event title ## Method - Pomodoro: 25 minutes of focus, 5-minute short breaks and a 15-minute long break after every fourth block (the lengths of Francesco Cirillo’s technique). 52/17: 52 minutes of focus and 17 minutes of break (the ratio DeskTime reported in 2014). Custom uses your lengths. - There is no break after the last block. Times are added in whole minutes to the local start; there are no daylight-saving jumps because the calendar file uses floating local times (no time zone), which calendar apps show at the same wall-clock time. - The .ics file follows RFC 5545: one VEVENT per focus block (busy) and optionally per break (free), with a display reminder when requested; lines are folded at 75 octets. UIDs and DTSTAMP are derived from the plan, so the same input always gives the same file. ## Limits - Focus routines are conventions, not medical advice. Take longer breaks whenever you need them.
